• Hello! I'm Nate Feldman, the heart, and lens behind Waterfall Portraits, located amidst the serene beauty of El Dorado County, Apple Hill, and just a stone's throw from the majestic Lake Tahoe. As a photographer, officiant, and avid gardener, I've dedicated myself to capturing life's most precious moments against the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada's breathtaking landscapes.

• My journey into photography began in the 1990s, fueled by a passion for natural beauty and a desire to preserve life's fleeting moments. My academic background in biology, ecology, intercultural & international communication studies, photography, art, and gemology interweaves with my work, enriching my perspective and deepening my appreciation for the natural settings that make each photo session unique. While I specialize in elopements and intimate couples portraits, my experience spans traditional weddings, family sessions, maternity shoots, and more.

• At the core of my work is a commitment to authenticity and environmental storytelling. I strive to create photographs that are true to my subjects, encapsulating the genuine emotions and surrounding beauty without contrivance. Inspired by classical artworks, my style is a blend of artistic composition and narrative, with each photograph meant to stand alone as a piece of art.

• I believe in the power of personal connection, often forming lasting relationships with my clients. From engagements to family portraits, I become a part of their journey, capturing the evolving chapters of their lives. My approach is collaborative and flexible, often integrating clients' inspirations into sessions and always experimenting with new ideas.

• My life and work are deeply connected to the rhythms of nature. Living in the Sierra Mountains allows me to embrace and capture the beauty of the changing seasons, from the snow-covered tranquility of winter to the vibrant blooms of spring. My own property, a canvas of creativity, features a private waterfall, a sprawling 4,000 square foot iris garden, secluded rope swings, and future plans for more enchanting landscapes like a rose garden, and a Japanese garden.

• Beyond photography, I value community and creativity. I regularly open my property to other photographers, biology students, and enjoy fostering a space for learning and inspiration. As I continue to evolve and grow in my craft, I remain dedicated to exploring new possibilities, both on my land and in my photography.
